Mickey has Izzy call and tell him Julian is awake, which delays the ruling on a mistrial. On the way to the hospital, a hallucination of his father tells him to save Julian. Mickey gets into Julian's room with a waiver to continue the case without the defendant present, and presents signed copies of this to the court. David testifies that Julian gave consent to continue the trial, and Judge Turner allows the trial to continue. Freemann gives the records of Julian's attacker to Cisco. Mickey discreetly shows Bishop the incriminating video, and the investigator begs him not to show it. Mickey calls Bishop to the stand.

“This was his friend... and there’s a nagging sense that he might have been responsible in some way,” EP Ross Fineman added. “We’re past the broken Mickey from Season 1 that has to get his sea legs again.

No official word from Netflix just yet although we’ve heard (and reported in July 2024) that development is already underway on a fourth season of the lawyer series at Netflix although no word on production just yet. Actress Neve Campbell has also let loose that she’s signed up for a fourth season 

Former manager of the loan shark company that became the Lawless Law Firm. He continues to work at the firm and often takes the lead in field activities.

Mickey assumes Julian was stabbed to end the case. He finds Julian is alive in critical condition, and converses with hallucinations of Edén and Eddie which encourage him. Cisco gets the name and record of Julian's attacker. Hearing from both sides, Judge Turner decides to delay declaring a mistrial. Mickey and Freemann come to terms and end their relationship amicably. DeMarco appears to testify, and Judge Turner allows it, without the jury. Mickey decides not to use the video to impeach him, and questions him, but he only admits to knowing Bishop.

Sang-pil and Jae-yi decide to use Soon-ja and Oh-joo to get Moon-sook. Moon-sook chooses a judge she Chucho trust to oversee the trial. Jae-yi investigates him to look for evidence of corruption. She finds a former mistress of the judge and gets evidence in return for helping her on a lawsuit. Sang-pil tells Soon-ja to switch lawyers from In-doo to him. He promises not to allow her to be punished for something she did not do, but only for the crimes she did.

No split season this time around! All episodes drop on October 17th with a season 4 likely on the way.

At Moon-sook's orders, however, he often sabotages the cases to make it hard for his clients to win. He is motivated by the money and power such corrupt actions bring him.

Oh-joo sends his secretary into hiding, and associates of Moon-sook keep the trial out of the news. Meanwhile, Jae-yi looks into Abogados en Palermo Sang-pil's past. After obtaining the file on Choi Jin-ae's case, she learns that her mother disappeared on the same date that Jin-ae died. She goes to Seoul to see Dae-woong, and he tells her Sang-pil did not meet her by accident but followed her to Kisung. Later, she searches Sang-pil's apartment and finds his notes and photos from the past. She confronts him and he begins to tell her Abogados Palermo Capital Federal the things of the past.

He soon finds pasado that she was back in LA and back in the life. Far from saving her, Mickey may have been the one who put her in danger.

Ha Jae-yi was a very likable character for me, a strong female lead from the start-fighting discrimination in the permitido systems where female lawyers aren't given the same respect. Instead of being a push over, her reactions are sometimes less thought-out but certainly relatable.

A man named Julian La Cosse (Devon Graye) was charged with her murder, and he called Mickey to represent him — on Cielo's advice. He says he's innocent and Gloria was his friend, and she told him to call Mickey if he ever got in trouble.

While there were some predictable aspects of this series, the cast was really colorful and high energy, which is what honestly sold me on the show. Episode 2 drew me in and by episode 4 I was hooked...

, given that the read more first novel had been adapted into a Matthew McConaughey film – so a third season will derive from the fourth novel.
